Tree removal in the south Denver metro: arborist cutting out a dead treetop against a blue sky

Tree Removal in Highlands Ranch and the South Metro

Sentenced to removal.

When a tree has to come down, it comes down in pieces, on ropes, with nothing dropped on your roof, fence, or garden. Free written estimates from the ISA Certified Arborist who climbs (almost) every job.

Tree removal Tree removal, done carefully.

Most of the trees Saw and Order takes down are in backyards: a house on one side, a fence on the other, and no room to drop anything. So Connor climbs the tree, ties each limb and section of trunk to a lowering line, and brings it down under control. The wood and brush are hauled away, and the stump can be ground the same day.

Every removal starts with a free visit. Connor looks at the tree, what's under it, and how the pieces will get out of the yard, then writes a fixed price. That price covers the climbing, rigging, cleanup, and haul-away, so there's no surprise bill for the parts you don't see.

Saw and Order Tree Care is fully insured with $2,000,000+ in coverage, and every removal is backed by the Zero Roof Footprint Guarantee: if something does get damaged, we make it right.

  • Free on-site estimate and a written, fixed price

When to Remove a Tree Grounds for removal.

Plenty of trees can be saved with the right pruning. These are the ones that usually can't.

  • Dead or dying

Dead trees get brittle fast in Colorado's dry air and drop limbs without warning. Pines killed by bark beetles and ash killed by emerald ash borer are two of the most common calls.

  • Storm damaged

A split trunk, a torn-out top, or a tree leaning after heavy spring snow often can't be fixed. If it's hanging over the house, call; don't wait for the form.

  • Too close to the house

Trees planted a few feet from the foundation outgrow the space, rub the roof, and push against gutters and siding.

  • Structural defects

Deep cracks, decay in the trunk, and weak V-shaped unions are how healthy-looking trees fail. An ISA Certified Arborist can tell which ones are real risks.

  • Past their prime

Big cottonwoods and silver maples drop heavy limbs as they age, and in a small yard there's often no safe way to keep them.

  • In the way

Additions, fences, patios, and garden space. Sometimes the right answer is a clean removal and a better tree in a better spot.

Not sure it has to go? Connor will tell you if pruning or treatment would save it.

How Tree Removal Works How it comes down.

  1. Free estimate

Connor walks the property with you, looks at the tree and everything around it, and writes a fixed price. Text photos first if you'd like a ballpark.

  2. The plan

Where each piece will be lowered, where the rigging ties in, and how everything gets out of the yard, all worked out before anyone climbs.

  3. Climb and lower

The tree comes down from the top in controlled sections on ropes, so nothing lands on your roof, fence, or landscaping.

  4. Cleanup and haul-away

Brush and wood are cleared and hauled off, and the yard is cleaned up. Want firewood? Ask, and we'll leave the rounds stacked.

  5. Stump grinding, if you want it

Priced separately so it's your choice. Stumps are ground below grade so the spot can go back to lawn, rock, or a new tree.

“…removing three large silver maples out of our yard, with plenty of obstacles to have to avoid hitting… they left our yard cleaner than when they started, and even graded the yard for no extra cost.”

Questions & Answers Cross-examination.

How much does tree removal cost?

Most removals fall between $250 and $1,250, and very large trees start at $1,250. Size, access, what's underneath, and cleanup all change the price, which is why every estimate is free and written before any work starts. Stump grinding is priced separately.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree?

Rules vary by town and HOA. Trees along the street may belong to the city, and many HOAs want a request approved first. We'll tell you what applies to your address before the work is scheduled.

Will you grind the stump?

If you want it, yes, often the same day. It's priced separately so you can decide.

What happens to the wood?

We haul it all away. If you'd like firewood, we can leave rounds stacked instead.

How soon can you do it?

Most removals can be scheduled within a few days. Dangerous trees and storm damage go to the front of the line, and emergencies are handled 24/7, with a $250 minimum for after-hours on-site calls.

What if something gets damaged?

Every removal is planned so it doesn't happen. If it does, we make it right: small things like a broken fence board we fix at our own cost, and anything bigger goes through our insurance, with $2,000,000+ in coverage.

Can the tree be saved instead?

Often, yes. The right pruning or treatment saves plenty of trees that look worse than they are, and Connor will tell you when removal isn't the answer.

How do I pay?

Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay, cash, check, or ACH bank transfer. Credit and debit cards are accepted too; credit card payments include a processing fee. Payment is due when the work is done or when your invoice arrives, unless we've agreed on something different, and financing is available through our lending partners.
